Since 2000, the Ruetli Endowment has been dedicated to supporting non-profit activity. It is not a charitable endowment, yet it aims at supporting the non-profit sector by providing independent and discreet recommendations to the wealthy, following their pre-determined goals.

The Ruetli Endowment evaluates requests, aranges payments to the applicants and monitors project developments in order to relieve the donor, if so desired, of the administrative tasks involved.

According to the needs and goals of the donor, he or she can open so called sub-accounts under the Ruetli Endowment umbrella or establish their own charitable endowment. Charitable donations in Switzerland are tax-deductible (see www.zewo.ch).
If the donor wishes to establish his/her own endowment, the donor nominates his/her own foundation board. By opening a sub-account under the Ruetli Endowment umbrella, the donor becomes an “authoritative advisor” of the Ruetli Endowment, which appoints the endowment board.

The funds of each sub-account are invested as part of the total assets of the Ruetli Endowment. Yet, for each sub-account, an individual financial statement is elaborated.

The donor’s requirements are met irrespective of whether he/she establishes a sub-account or incorporates his/her own charitable endowment.  Hence, there are virtually no limitations as to how funds can be used to pursue charitable goals.
